Silencio Paris Guide: How David Lynch's Members' Club Works
· Updated:
Silencio is a private club designed by David Lynch at 142 rue Montmartre, in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, with a cinema, an art gallery, a cocktail bar and a stage. Members and their guests have it to themselves until midnight; after that the door opens to others, selectively, for DJ nights, concerts and screenings announced event by event.

A club that started on a film set
The name comes from the night club in Mulholland Drive, and Lynch designed the real one himself. Time Out's review describes gold-leaf walls and neo-1950s furniture chosen to keep you slightly on edge rather than sunk in a sofa. Time Out Paris still placed it among the city's best clubs in March 2026 and called it one of the most selective. It is less a dancefloor with a bar than a cultural members' club that turns into a party late at night: performers, artists and musicians from every genre share the stage, and the cinema screens films for the members.
What a night looks like in 2026
There is no weekly club schedule to memorise. The 2026 calendar mixed DJ nights and live shows: David Shaw in April, Axel Boman in May, Peaches at the end of June, then a summer run with Matias Aguayo on 25 July, Young Marco on 1 August and WAĂŹ with Sofia Kourtesis on 14 August. The common thread is house and leftfield electronic music in a room for about 300, which feels closer to a house party for the in-crowd than to a big club. Concert and screening nights have their own entry rules, written in each night's listing.
Who is it for? Film and art lovers curious to see the room Lynch built, fans of the DJs on a given bill, and people who prefer a small, dressed-up room to a big dancefloor. If your plan is to dance hard until dawn with a large group, a public club will suit you better, and there are several within walking distance on the Grands Boulevards. If you do go, treat Silencio as a late stop: the interesting part for non-members starts after midnight, so have dinner and a first drink elsewhere in the Sentier.
The best clubs in Paris →Getting in when you're not a member
This is the part people ask about. Before midnight, unless a member has invited you, you won't get in. After midnight, the door lets others in, but Time Out warns that you have to look right. In practice: come as a small group rather than a crowd of eight, dress with care (smart rather than flashy), be patient and polite in the queue, and don't plan your whole night around it. Have a second option in mind: Sacré, in the same building, and Rex Club, a few minutes away, both open to the public. If you'd like to know what's realistic on a given date, a guest-list spot or a table, it depends on the night and on the door; message us on WhatsApp and we'll tell you honestly.
Silencio and Sacré: don't mix up the doors
Both venues give their address as 142 rue Montmartre, which causes a lot of confusion. Yet they're separate businesses, each with its own entrance, nights and regulars. Time Out puts Silencio in the basement of what used to be the Social Club, and Sacré opened in the space above it in 2019. The first is smaller and run for its members; the second lets everyone in, with a bar and a proper dancefloor. The nearest metro stations are Bourse and Sentier, and the Grands Boulevards are a short walk away if you want to carry on elsewhere.
