Le Kilowatt Vitry Guide: Festivals, Music, Getting There from Paris

· Updated:

Le Kilowatt is an open-air cultural venue at Espace Marcel Paul, 18 rue des Fusillés, in Vitry-sur-Seine, south-east of Paris, named after the old power station next door. It hosts concerts, festivals and parties by date, with reggae, electronic music (techno and bass) and rap, often starting in the afternoon or evening and running late; from Paris you get there by RER C to Les Ardoines.

More festival than nightclub

Don't come to Le Kilowatt expecting a club with a door, a queue and a dark room. It was started by the town of Vitry and the team behind the Sur Les Pointes festival, and it feels like a festival site that stays open all year. Paris Zigzag describes an open-air space that combines a concert hall, a big top, terraces, food trucks and a dance floor, with a beach that opens at weekends in July. The setting is industrial, with red brick, big volumes and old machinery left from the power station. The best way to think of it: a day or an evening out with friends, music in several spaces, food on site, and the night carrying on with DJ sets.

What a year at Le Kilowatt looks like

The 2026 calendar shows the range. The Paris Queer Festival took over the site on 30 and 31 May. On Saturday 13 June the Ohlala Summer Festival ran from 3pm to 2am with drum and bass, dubstep, UK garage and sound-system culture. Concerts followed on 27 June and 25 July, and another on 2 October. Techno has its place too: in September 2025 two Paris techno crews held a daytime party here from 2pm to midnight, with the big top ready in case of rain. In July, the beach weekends bring concerts and samba in the evening, followed by DJ sets until the early hours.

The site also has a place in the history of Paris electronic music. It was the home of the Entente Nocturne festival, until the very last edition moved to the Cité Fertile in Pantin on 18 April 2026. The warm months are clearly the main season. At the start of November 2026, the latest dated event we found was on 2 October, so if you're thinking of a winter trip, check with us on WhatsApp first.

What to bring

Le Kilowatt doesn't publish a dress code. Most of the site is outdoors, so dress for the weather and for standing and dancing for hours: flat shoes, a layer for the evening, and something for the rain, although the big top is there if a shower comes through. Check the start time of your event before you leave, too: many start in daylight, like the Ohlala festival at 3pm or the September 2025 techno party at 2pm, and the site is made for long afternoons that turn into nights.

Getting there from Paris and back

Sortir à Paris gives two train options. The simplest is the RER C to Les Ardoines, then about 10 minutes on foot to 18 rue des Fusillés; the RER C is the same line that stops at Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand in Paris, by the boats of the 13th. The other is the RER D to Maisons-Alfort–Alfortville, then about 20 minutes on foot. By car, Paris Zigzag points to the A86, exit Vitry-sur-Seine. The return is what to plan, because you're outside Paris and trains don't run all night: the Ohlala festival in June 2026, for example, ended at 2am. After the last trains, Noctilien night buses run from roughly 12:30am to 5:30am, according to the RATP, and a Navigo pass is valid on them. Check your exact route back in the RATP app before the event, or organise a shared taxi with your group.
