The Bateau Phare is the old Batofar: a former Irish lightship moored at 3 Port de la Gare in the 13th arrondissement, facing the BnF library, at the foot of the Tolbiac bridge. After the Batofar closed in 2018 the boat was bought, renovated and relaunched its club nights in March 2024. Today it's a Friday and Saturday spot for dancing until 5am, with DJs, a dancefloor and a terrace by the water.

VIP Tables at Bateau Phare

For a group, a birthday or a table on the Bateau Phare, the conditions depend on the night and the space. The boat can also be booked privately. Message us on WhatsApp with the date and how many you are, and we'll tell you what's possible.

How to Get to Bateau Phare

The address is 3 Port de la Gare, 75013 Paris, opposite the BnF. Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand (metro 14 and RER C) is a 5-minute walk and Quai de la Gare (metro 6) about 8 minutes. Buses 25, 62, 64, 71, 89, 132 and 325 stop nearby, and there's a Vélib' station right opposite. Club nights end at 5am; after the last metro, Noctilien night buses run until around 5:30am, Navigo valid.

Dress Code & Entry Requirements

The Bateau Phare doesn't publish a dress code. Remember you're on a boat with several decks and a terrace by the water: comfortable shoes and a layer for outside are a good idea.

From the Batofar to the Bateau Phare

Few boats on the Seine have a history like this one. It started life as the Osprey, an Irish lightship in service from 1955 to 1975, and in 1999 it became the Batofar, moored at Port de la Gare, one of the best-known party boats in Paris. The Batofar went into liquidation in January 2018 and closed in February that year. In May 2018 the boat was bought, then renovated: Time Out Paris described rebuilt decks, a new layout, a new sound system and new soundproofing when the club nights came back on 1 March 2024. The name is now written Bateau Phare, and the boat is still moored at the foot of the Tolbiac bridge, facing the BnF library.

Nights on board

The boat opens from Wednesday: Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm to 1am, Friday and Saturday from 6pm to 5am, and Sunday depending on the programme. The Food Deck and the Carré serve from the start of the evening, so you can eat on board before dancing. On Fridays and Saturdays it's a club, with a DJ, a dancefloor and the terrace by the water until 5am. The music depends on the night: French pop, shatta, amapiano, afro house, baile funk or salsa. In November 2026 the programme includes a blind test and karaoke night on Wednesday 4 November at 8pm, Ayo Lover × The People on Saturday 7 November from 10pm, and Fiesta Latina Sur Seine on Saturday 14 November from 11pm. Tell us on WhatsApp which night you want and how many you are.

Getting there and getting home

The address is 3 Port de la Gare, 75013 Paris, on the riverbank opposite the BnF. The venue's own directions: Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand on metro 14 or RER C is a 5-minute walk, and Quai de la Gare on metro 6 about 8 minutes. Buses 25, 62, 64, 71, 89, 132 and 325 serve the area, and Vélib' station 13029 is right opposite the boat. Petit Bain is moored a few numbers along at 7 Port de la Gare, and Djoon is on boulevard Vincent Auriol. Going home after 5am, the RATP says Noctilien night buses run until around 5:30am, Navigo valid; earlier in the night, the metro runs until about 2:15am at the end of the line on Fridays and Saturdays. Check your exact times in the RATP app.
