La Java has been a dance hall since 1923, in the basement of the Galerie du Palais du Commerce at 105 rue du Faubourg du Temple, between République and Belleville. Édith Piaf, Django Reinhardt and Jean Gabin all passed through; today it is a low-ceilinged club for up to 450 people playing house and techno, with concerts earlier in the evening. Resident Advisor calls it a storied venue that has found new life in contemporary club culture.

VIP Tables at La Java

La Java is a standing club with a bar, built for the dancefloor. For a group or a birthday, message us on WhatsApp with the date and how many you are; table and group conditions depend on the club, the night and the space.

How to Get to La Java

105 rue du Faubourg du Temple, 75010 Paris. Metro Belleville (lines 2 and 11) or Goncourt (line 11), and République is walkable. Night buses N12 and N23 stop nearby once the metro has closed.

Dress Code & Entry Requirements

La Java doesn't publish a dress code. It does state that its nights are inclusive and that anyone who doesn't respect that is refused or asked to leave. Come dressed to dance: it's a busy, low-ceilinged room.

Club nights at La Java

La Java splits its evenings in two: concerts from about 19:30 to 23:00, then the club. On Thursdays the club runs from 23:00 to 06:00, and on Fridays and Saturdays from midnight to 07:00; Wednesdays depend on the programme. The sound is house, techno and the more playful side of club music, as Resident Advisor puts it. The November 2026 agenda is typical: La Gomorrhée's second birthday on the 6th, Connect Chicken on the 7th, a baile funk night on Tuesday the 10th (the eve of the 11 November holiday), Club Mate x La Java on the 13th, Revival on the 14th, House Archive on the 20th, Ipséité on the 21st, then Born 2 Bounce and Club Armor on the last weekend.

A 1923 dance hall under an Art Deco arcade

The club sits in the basement of the Galerie du Palais du Commerce, an Art Deco arcade listed as a historic monument since 1994, with stained glass and wrought-iron staircases. La Java opened there in 1923 as a dance hall; Django Reinhardt, Jean Gabin and Fréhel played it, and Maurice Chevalier and Édith Piaf started out on its stage. After years of Latin music it moved to electronic nights. The venue calls itself the oldest club in France and is a member of the Syndicat Culture Nuit. In club mode it holds up to 450 people in a standing room with a bar. Each night has its own page with the line-up and the start time, between 23:30 and midnight in November 2026, so check it before you pick your date.

Belleville by night and the way home

La Java is at 105 rue du Faubourg du Temple, the street that climbs from République to Belleville, an area full of bars that stay busy before midnight. Belleville metro (lines 2 and 11) and Goncourt (line 11) are the closest stops. The last metro reaches the end of the line around 01:15 from Sunday to Thursday and around 02:15 on Friday and Saturday, so on club nights you'll usually go home by night bus: the N12 and N23 stop nearby, and the Noctilien network runs from about 00:30 to 05:30. On Fridays and Saturdays the club closes at 07:00, when the metro is running again. Want help choosing the night or coming as a group? Message us on WhatsApp with the date and how many you are.
