Le Chinois is Montreuil's bar, gig venue and club, set in a former Chinese restaurant at 6 place du Marché, near Croix de Chavaux metro. Since September 2025 it has been run by a new team from L'International, the Oberkampf venue that closed in spring 2025: the gigs lean towards rock, and the club nights bring world sounds and local electronic collectives. It's open year-round from Thursday to Saturday.

VIP Tables at Le Chinois

Le Chinois is a bar and gig venue rather than a table club. If you're coming as a group, message us on WhatsApp with the date: the conditions depend on the venue and the night, and we can help with tickets and the guest list.

How to Get to Le Chinois

The address is 6 place du Marché, 93100 Montreuil, close to Croix de Chavaux station on metro line 9. Line 9 runs until about 2:15am at the end of the line on Fridays and Saturdays (about 1:15am on other nights); after that, Noctilien night buses run from around 12:30am to 5:30am, Navigo valid. Check your route home in the RATP app.

Dress Code & Entry Requirements

Le Chinois doesn't publish a dress code. The place is relaxed, with a kitsch, raw decor and a colourful bar: come as you are.

Gigs early, DJs late

Le Chinois runs on two tracks. In the evening there are gigs, and since the new team arrived in September 2025 they lean towards rock: Actors played on 23 September 2026, Superfan on 2 November and Babe Haven, on their first visit to Paris, on Thursday 5 November 2026. Later at night, the room becomes a club, with DJ sets and local collectives. On 18 April 2026, for instance, Quelf invited Clumsy B and Adrixxx for a night of afro-electronic sounds from midnight to 5am, and in May an electronic band, Public Circuit, headlined. Time Out Paris summed up the plan when the venue relaunched: club nights that keep drawing on music from around the world and that make room for Montreuil's own electronic artists and collectives. Ask us on WhatsApp which nights are coming up.

A former Chinese restaurant with a story

The name comes from the building: Le Chinois is set in a former Chinese restaurant on place du Marché, in the Croix de Chavaux area of Montreuil. Visit Paris Region describes a relaxed place with a kitsch, raw decor, a colourful bar, an open-stage night and a smoking room styled like a Berlin bunker. The venue relaunched on 4 September 2025 with three former members of L'International, the Oberkampf rock venue that closed in spring 2025, in charge of programming, production and communication. That background explains the programme: guitar bands, a mix of world music, and electronic nights driven by local crews. Bal Chavaux, the hall in the former Méliès cinema, is in the same neighbourhood, a short walk away.

Getting there from Paris and back

The address is 6 place du Marché, 93100 Montreuil, near Croix de Chavaux station on metro line 9. Visit Paris Region lists the venue as open year-round from Thursday to Saturday, and club nights can run until 5am. For the way back, the RATP says the metro runs until about 1:15am from Sunday to Thursday and until about 2:15am on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before public holidays, at the end of the line, so the last train passes Croix de Chavaux a little earlier. After that, Noctilien night buses run from around 12:30am to 5:30am, and Navigo is valid on them. Coming with friends? Send us the date on WhatsApp and we'll help with tickets and the guest list. Bal Chavaux, in the former Méliès cinema, is at the same station if you want to make a night of it.
