Bal Chavaux is in Montreuil's former Méliès cinema, right by Croix de Chavaux metro station on line 9, just east of Paris. It's the second venue of the team behind La Marbrerie: a main hall for about 500 people for gigs and club nights, plus two rooms for dance classes. The programme runs from hip-hop to electronic music and hyper-pop, with queer club nights such as its Halloween 2026 horror ball.

VIP Tables at Bal Chavaux

Bal Chavaux is a concert and club hall rather than a table venue. If you're coming as a group, message us on WhatsApp with the date: the conditions depend on the venue and the night, and we can help with tickets and the guest list.

How to Get to Bal Chavaux

Bal Chavaux is on Place Jacques-Duclos, 93100 Montreuil, at the foot of Croix de Chavaux station on metro line 9. To get back, the metro runs until about 2:15am at the end of the line on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before public holidays (about 1:15am on other nights). After that, Noctilien night buses run from around 12:30am to 5:30am, and Navigo is valid on them; check your route in the RATP app before you go.

Dress Code & Entry Requirements

Bal Chavaux doesn't publish a dress code. Some nights have a theme, like the horror-film Halloween ball of 31 October 2026, so look at the event page first, or ask us on WhatsApp.

A former cinema turned party hall

The building housed the Méliès, Montreuil's cinema, until it moved in 2015. It was designed in the early 1970s by the architect Claude Le Goas, and after about ten years empty it has been turned into a hybrid venue by the team behind La Marbrerie. Time Out Paris and Sortir à Paris describe three rooms: the old main auditorium, which now holds about 500 people for gigs and club nights, and two smaller rooms given over to dance classes, run with the neighbouring Pina Bausch dance conservatoire. The hall keeps a theatrical feel, and the programme leans towards current and emerging music, from hip-hop to electronic music and hyper-pop. It's a newcomer on the scene: Time Out announced it for autumn 2025, and in 2026 it hosted concerts and parties through the year.

Club nights, gigs and themed balls

The nights at Bal Chavaux change format a lot. On 23 October 2026 it hosted an electronic night with Koudlam, La Mverte and Franky Gogo. On Saturday 31 October 2026 it held a Halloween ball on the theme of horror films: DJ sets in electro, house and dark disco, drag performances and VJ projections, running until 5am. Rock and punk also have their place: L.A. Guns play on Tuesday 24 November 2026 at 7pm, and Schlaasss and Corto Malaise on Wednesday 9 December 2026. Montreuil has become one of the places where Paris goes out beyond the périphérique, and Bal Chavaux sits in the middle of it, a short walk from Le Chinois, another bar, gig venue and club at Croix de Chavaux. Tell us on WhatsApp which date you want.

Getting there from Paris and back

Bal Chavaux is on Place Jacques-Duclos, 93100 Montreuil, at the foot of Croix de Chavaux station on metro line 9. For the way back, the RATP says the metro runs until about 1:15am from Sunday to Thursday and until about 2:15am on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before public holidays, at the end of the line; the last train passes Croix de Chavaux before that. If you stay later, Noctilien night buses run from around 12:30am to 5:30am, and a Navigo pass is valid on them. Check your exact route home in the RATP app before you go in. Coming with friends? We can help with tickets and the guest list on WhatsApp. Some listings give an avenue de la Résistance address for the same building, the former Méliès cinema at Croix de Chavaux.
