Club Boats in Paris: Where to Dance on the Seine

· Updated:

To dance on the Seine in Paris, head to the quai de la Gare in the 13th: Petit Bain, at 7 Port de la Gare, runs concerts and club nights until 6am on Fridays and Saturdays, and the Bateau Phare, the old Batofar lightship at number 3, has DJs until 5am on the same nights. Along the river you'll also find Bridge under the Pont Alexandre III and the Seine-side clubs of the Cité de la Mode, though none of those float.

Paris has a long history of clubbing on the water, and it moves fast. The Batofar closed in 2018 before coming back as the Bateau Phare, and Concrete, the techno club on a barge, closed for good in July 2019, as DJ Mag and Time Out reported. Here's what you can actually dance on, or next to, in 2026.

Petit Bain

Petit Bain is a cultural boat moored at 7 Port de la Gare, right on the Seine. On board there's a restaurant, a rooftop bar and a 450-capacity room that runs concerts, from rock and metal to reggae and experimental electronic music, and eclectic club nights. Time Out (March 2026) gives Monday to Thursday from 6pm to 2am and Friday and Saturday from 6pm to 6am, closed on Sunday. In the autumn 2026 programme, club nights fall on 7 and 13 November and 12 December. The venue presents itself as a space open to everyone, where everyone is treated with respect.

Bateau Phare, the old Batofar

The Bateau Phare is a former Irish lightship moored at 3 Port de la Gare, opposite the BnF library and at the foot of the Tolbiac bridge. As the Batofar it was one of the city's best-known club boats until it closed in 2018; the boat was then bought, renovated and relaunched its club nights in March 2024. It holds about 300 people across three decks, plus a terrace on the quay. On Wednesdays and Thursdays it opens from 6pm to 1am; on Fridays and Saturdays, from 6pm to 5am with DJs. The music changes with the night: French pop, shatta, amapiano, afro house, baile funk and salsa, with dated parties on 7 and 14 November 2026.

Practical tip from the boat itself: you're on several decks with a terrace by the water, so wear comfortable shoes and bring a layer for outside. The boat can also be booked privately for a group.

On the water's edge: Bridge, Wanderlust, FVTVR and Djoon

Several clubs give you the Seine without the boat. Bridge, under the Pont Alexandre III on the Champs-Élysées side, is built into the riverbank on the site of the former Showcase: weekends and the night before public holidays from midnight to 6am, with up to about 2,500 people on big nights. Back in the 13th, the Cité de la Mode et du Design on the quai d'Austerlitz holds Wanderlust, with about 1,600 m² and a big wooden terrace above the river, and FVTVR, a techno club with a tunnel-shaped dancefloor. A few minutes away, Djoon, the house club of the 13th, looks onto the quai through a two-storey glass front.

Guinguette boats and summer cruises

Some boats are closer to a bar than a club, but they're part of a night on the water. Annette K, at Port de Javel Bas in the 15th, is a barge with a pool, a gym and a guinguette, open Thursday to Saturday until 2am, with an anniversary programme in November 2026 of Latin nights, salsa, karaoke and DJs. The Concorde Atlantique, moored at the Port de Solférino in the 7th, ran a Monday rock'n'roll night called Rock That Boat and a Saturday party, Generation 90-2000, in late October 2026, according to Sortir à Paris. In summer, J'peux pas J'ai Péniche ran a Saturday cruise with a club in the hold from 23 May to 26 September 2026, and Le Barboteur, a roving barge, moves between the 19th, Bobigny and Pantin on the canal with open-air concerts.

Tables and groups work boat by boat. Petit Bain is a concert and club room rather than a table venue, while the Bateau Phare can be booked privately. Bridge sells tables for groups on its weekend nights and on special dates such as New Year's Eve, and at Wanderlust the options depend on the night and the area. Conditions depend on the venue and the night, so send us the date and how many you are before you go, and we'll tell you what's possible.

Getting to the quai de la Gare and back

For Petit Bain and the Bateau Phare, take metro line 14 or RER C to Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand, about five minutes' walk, or metro line 6 to Quai de la Gare, about eight minutes. Buses 89 and 64 stop nearby and there's a Vélib' station opposite the Bateau Phare. The metro runs until about 2:15am on Fridays and Saturdays and about 1:15am on other nights (at the end of the line); after that, the Noctilien night buses run from about 0:30 to 5:30, Navigo valid.
