Techno in Paris: The Best Techno and House Clubs in 2026
· Updated:
The best techno clubs in Paris in 2026 are Rex Club on the Grands Boulevards, Essaim near La Chapelle, La Java in Belleville, FVTVR on the quai d'Austerlitz and Mia Mao in La Villette, with Phantom in Bercy for international headliners and Djoon for house. Most run Thursday to Saturday and close between 6am and 7am, and Glazart's afters take over on weekend mornings.
Paris techno is spread across the east and the north-east of the city, with a few big rooms elsewhere. The doors here care less about your shoes than about whether you came to dance. Tickets for the big nights usually go in advance, but several clubs still sell on the door.

The classics: Rex Club and La Java
Rex Club is the reference. It sits in the basement of the Grand Rex cinema at 5 boulevard Poissonnière, holds 800 on a single dancefloor, and Time Out Paris says it has been going for more than 40 years, giving early nights to Laurent Garnier and Daft Punk. Residents include D'Julz, Ivan Smagghe, Chloé, Traumer and Camion Bazar. The club's own FAQ is clear: no VIP area, no VIP tables. In November 2026 it has Antal on the 7th, MrD on the 13th and Hunee on the 20th.

La Java has been a dance hall since 1923, under the Galerie du Palais du Commerce at 105 rue du Faubourg du Temple. Édith Piaf and Django Reinhardt passed through; today it's a low-ceilinged room for up to 450 people, with house and techno until 7am on Fridays and Saturdays. Resident Advisor describes it as a storied venue that has found new life in club culture, and the club states that its nights are inclusive.
The new generation: Essaim, FVTVR and Mia Mao
Essaim opened on 31 October 2024 at 14 rue Philippe de Girard, in the 10th, in the former premises of Club Carbone and Bisou Club. It's a room for about 400, with an L-Acoustics system, the DJ booth at floor level and long, deep sets from Friday to Sunday; some specials run until 10am, and Sunday extended sessions start at 4pm. Time Out put it in its 2026 list of the city's best clubs. The door has the final word, even with a presale ticket, and presale holders get priority until 1am.

FVTVR, under the Cité de la Mode et du Design at 34 quai d'Austerlitz, opened in June 2023: an industrial room with a long, tunnel-shaped dancefloor, open Thursday to Sunday from midnight with techno, trance, house and electro. Mia Mao, at 2 rue de la Clôture in La Villette, is a 3,000 m² warehouse with six-metre ceilings, three bars and a tattoo parlour inside a London bus; Manu le Malin is a resident, and the music runs from techno and trance to hard music and drum & bass.

Big rooms and international headliners
Phantom, opened in March 2023 inside the Accor Arena in Bercy, is the city's headliner room: about 1,400 m² under high ceilings and a giant articulated mirror, with nights mostly on Fridays and Saturdays; Ben Klock brings his Photon night on 12 December 2026. T7, on top of Pavilion 7 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, adds a Funktion-One system, a 400 m² terrace and a 180-degree view, with past bookings like Tale Of Us, Ben Klock and Amélie Lens. Gate, at Porte Maillot, booked Andrea Oliva, Ajna and MoBlack on Fridays in October 2026. La Machine du Moulin Rouge and Cabaret Sauvage also run big techno and house nights by event.

House music: Djoon, Badaboum and Sacré
For house, Djoon is the address. Open since 2003 at 22 boulevard Vincent Auriol, in a two-storey loft with a glass front on the quai de la Gare, it plays soulful, deep and afro house, disco and soul in the New York, Chicago and Detroit tradition, usually from 11pm; in November 2026 it has nights on the 6th, 7th, 10th, 13th, 20th and 28th. Badaboum, near Bastille, mixes house, disco and techno at weekends over two floors. Sacré, at 142 rue Montmartre, reopened in 2023 with a new sound system and twelve residents, and plays house, deep house and techno mainly on Fridays and Saturdays.

Harder sounds, afters and open-airs
If 7am is too early to stop, Glazart, a former coach station at Porte de la Villette, runs After O'Clock every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday from 6am to 4pm, with techno and drum & bass. Just outside Paris, Le Noct in Pantin plays hard techno, trance and hardcore, mostly on Fridays and Saturdays. La Station, Gare des Mines, the alternative venue in a former coal station by the périphérique, stays open until the end of 2026 before about three years of works. And in summer, the techno moves outside: Kilomètre25, under the périphérique in the 19th, closed its season on 31 October and is due back in spring 2027.

November 2026 dates to know
Wednesday 11 November is a public holiday in France, so Tuesday 10 works like a Saturday: Rex Club, Essaim, Badaboum, La Java, Djoon and Mia Mao open that night, and Glazart runs an after on the 11th. Essaim hosts Joe Claussell b2b Ron Trent on 12 November. Nouveau Casino has techno nights on 6, 7 and 28 November, Le Trabendo runs two Pitchfork Club Nights on 6 and 7 November, Folies Pigalle has Sam Karlson on 14 November and Le Cirque Électrique brings back ACROBAT on 28 November.
How the door works
Techno clubs in Paris rarely ask for a dress code; they ask you to behave. La Java, Badaboum and La Station all publish inclusive house rules and say they refuse or remove anyone who doesn't respect them. Mia Mao bans photos, videos and suitcases inside. Rex Club and Glazart may check ID at the door. Come in a small group, know who's playing, and buy in advance for big names. If you need help with a ticket or you're coming as a group, message us.

What is the best techno club in Paris?
There's no single answer, but two names come first: Rex Club, on the Grands Boulevards for over 40 years, and Essaim, a 400-capacity club near La Chapelle that Resident Advisor calls one of the most carefully curated in Paris. For a bigger room, look at Mia Mao, FVTVR or Phantom.
What time do techno clubs close in Paris?
Most techno clubs close between 6am and 7am: Rex Club, La Java on Fridays and Saturdays, Mia Mao and Badaboum at 7am. Glazart's After O'Clock then runs from 6am to 4pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Is there a dress code in Paris techno clubs?
Generally not. Rex Club, Essaim, La Java and Mia Mao don't publish one; the door looks at attitude rather than clothes. Some clubs have their own rules, such as no photos or suitcases at Mia Mao.
Where can I go for a techno after-party on Sunday?
Glazart, at Porte de la Villette, runs its After O'Clock every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday from 6am to 4pm, and Essaim has extended Sunday sessions from 4pm on some dates.
Are Paris techno clubs open on 10 November 2026?
Yes. Wednesday 11 November is a public holiday, so several clubs open on Tuesday 10 November, including Rex Club, Essaim, Badaboum, La Java, Djoon and Mia Mao, and Glazart runs an after on the 11th.
