Hip-Hop, Afro and Latin Clubs in Paris: Where to Dance
· Updated:
In Paris, hip-hop and R&B are mostly played in the clubs of the 8e and 16e, such as L'Arc, Bridge, Cova and Mirage; the Latin nights centre on Medellin (reggaeton, avenue Marceau), Pachamama at Bastille and the Puebla residency at Les Planches; and afro house has its Saturday home at Nua. Amapiano, afrobeats and shatta, meanwhile, live mostly in parties that move from club to club, at Nouveau Casino, La Bellevilloise, Bateau Phare or T7.
That split matters for planning. In the west you pick a club and the music comes with it; in the east you pick a party, and the venue changes from week to week. This guide covers both, with the nights we found for autumn 2026.

Hip-hop and R&B: the west side
L'Arc, at 12 rue de Presbourg next to the Arc de Triomphe, plays hip-hop and house from Thursday to Saturday, 11:55pm to 6am. Its rap credentials come from Fashion Week: in October 2025 it hosted Gunna, Travis Scott, Quavo and Davido, according to Sortir Ă Paris. Bridge, under the Pont Alexandre III, plays pop, rap and party classics at weekends and put on live rap shows in October 2026, including L2B Gang on the 2nd. On rue Pierre Charron, Cova and Mirage, two doors apart, mix chart hits with hip-hop, afro and house. These are table clubs with a smart door: the regional tourist board says L'Arc expects no jeans and no trainers.

Latin nights: reggaeton, Mexican and more
Medellin, at 6 avenue Marceau, is a cocktail bar and club whose dĂ©cor draws on the streets of MedellĂn in Colombia, and one of the few rooms near the Champs-ÉlysĂ©es built around reggaeton, with Latin music, house and some hip-hop from 11:30pm until morning. Close by, Les Planches on rue du ColisĂ©e hosts Puebla, a Mexican residency, on Saturdays from 11pm to 5am: house, Latin sounds and hits, with live mariachis between sets. At Bastille, Pachamama took over the old Barrio Latino building at the end of 2017 and runs a restaurant then club from Thursday to Saturday; the venue asks for “tenue correcte”. In summer 2026, Wanderlust also ran a reggaeton night called La Casa Del Perreo.

Afro house: Nua and the house clubs
Nua, at 32 rue de Tilsitt on the ring around the Arc de Triomphe, is the west-side address for afro house: in April 2026 its Saturdays had resident DJs playing afrobeat, afro house and deep house until early morning, under a ceiling of suspended clouds. In the east, afro house runs through the house clubs. Le 211, by the Parc de la Villette, plays disco, afro house and deep house from DJ collectives from Wednesday to Sunday; Djoon, on boulevard Vincent Auriol, is a soulful-house club, with afro and deep house in the mix; and YOYO, under the Palais de Tokyo, programmes house, tech house and afro house by event.

Amapiano, afrobeats and shatta: follow the party
Much of this scene is made of party brands that take over a different venue each time. In November 2026, Nouveau Casino on rue Oberkampf hosted BASEMENT on Saturday the 7th, with amapiano, afrobeats, shatta and rap from midnight to 6am, and La Bellevilloise in Ménilmontant held La Shattarena #11, an Afro-Caribbean and tropical party, on the eve of the 11 November holiday; earlier in 2026 it also hosted Afro Heaven, an afro, amapiano and shatta night. T7, at Porte de Versailles, had AmapianoLand in June 2026. Bateau Phare, the red boat at Port de la Gare, changes genre every night between French pop, shatta, amapiano, afro house, baile funk and salsa. In Montreuil, La Marbrerie mixes baile funk, raï and hip-hop nights, and Bal Chavaux programmes hip-hop alongside electronic music.

Before you go
In the 8e and 16e, dress smart: these clubs have selective doors and work mostly with tables, and the conditions depend on the club, the night and the area of the room, so ask us on WhatsApp before you go. In the east there's no formal dress code, but the parties sell out on their big nights. Our dress-code and guest-list guides cover the details.
